On October 8-9th, 2021, the 5th Conference of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association (LERA) “Scientific Citizenship in an Indefinite World” organized by the Lithuanian Educational Research Association and the Institute of Education and Social Work of the Faculty of Human and Social Studies of Mykolas Romeris University was held.
The conference was attended by about 200 participants.On October 8th plenary presentations were given by prof. dr. Natalija Mažeikienė „Will we Change Education? Asta Railienė, assoc. prof. dr. Justinas Sadauskas, dr. Natalija Valavičienė „Critical Thinking in a Changing Reality: A Higher Education and Labor Market Perspective”, prof.dr.Irena Leliūgienė „Expression of Active Citizenship by Professor Vincas Čepinskis, Rector of the Interwar Lithuanian Vytautas Magnus University”, dr. Neringa Kurapkaitienė „Provocation of Authenticity in Indefinite Volunteering”, dr. Valentina Bereznaja – Demidenko „Migrants as Learners” Always and Everywhere „Mission of the Social Services Center”, doctoral student Viktorija Vaidogaitė „Child Behind the Fence: Teacher Volunteers in a Refugee Camp”, prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė „Confusion of Key Lithuanian Educational Terms: to leave alone or to decide? „, prof. dr. Vilma Žydžiūnaitė „Jargonization of Educational Science Terminology: Transparency and Ethics of the Relationship between National and Academic Terminology”. Intensive discussions took place after listening to the announcements.
On October 9th, the conference was held remotely. The participants of the conference could listen to the presentations in the following sections „Active Citizenship Education and Other Topical Issues”, „Directions of Social Education Change”, „Educational Research in an Uncertain World: Challenges and New Opportunities”, „Educator in the Context of Study Process Uncertainty””(No) Substantiated Critique and Revision of Humanism: Philosophical and Political Aspects of Education „,” Preparation for the Teaching Profession: Components of Vocation, Academic Education and Professional Status „,” Development of Competencies in Citizenship and Social Responsibility Education: Challenges of Professional Development „, ,, Management and Leadership for the Reconstruction of Learning Processes: The Context of General Curriculum Renewal, „Topical Issues and Perspectives in Arts Education”, „Science-Based Teacher Education for an Inclusive Society”, „Learning Anytime, Anywhere” to Cope with Problems in Everyday and Crisis Situations “Physical Education and Sports for the Well-Being of Students.” This conference was followed by deep conference discussions. Next year conference is planned at Vytautas Magnus University.
