The concept of parental pedagogical education is theoretically based on the dissertation research aimed at analysing the expression and organization of parental pedagogical education in the activities of pre-school education institution, enabling educational conditions: innovative forms of teacher cooperation with parents, the content of parental pedagogical education meeting the needs of parents, and the role of the teacher.
A qualitative research was carried out using the content analysis of pre-school education curricula, structured interviews with the parents of children attending pre-school education institutions orally and with pre-school education institution teachers in written. The analysis of the content of pre-school education institution curricula revealed the pedagogical education of parents contextualized in the programs, the directions of interaction between parents and teachers, and the attention to the satisfaction of parents’ needs and their involvement in children’s education. The content analysis of parents’ experiences highlighted the expectations of parents towards pedagogical education, enabling educational conditions and involvement in the activities of pre-school education institution, as well as the areas for improvement in parents’ pedagogical education: the systematic nature of parental pedagogical education, communication and, especially, cooperation with teachers and forms of parental education. The analysis of teachers’ experiences showed the situation of parental pedagogical education and parents’ involvement / engagement in pre-school educational activities in ordinary and atypical situations, highlighted the gaps in pedagogical preparation of parents, allowed to identify opportunities for improving parental pedagogical education by applying innovations.

The aim of the research is to investigate the interaction between general work-related physical abilities and executive function of young people with intellectual disabilities (mild and moderate) in vocational school and to prepare an evidence-based integrated programme of the development of work-related physical abilities to develop general physical abilities, psychomotor responses and executive function.Practical significance of the researchThe designed theoretical systematic model of the development of physical capacity based on the dynamic, ecological theory of motor learning, focused on the development of motor literacy and general work-related physical abilities of young people with intellectual disabilities, can contribute to the structured and methodical development of respective integrated programmes that would help systematically increase the physical readiness of young people with intellectual disabilities for work activity.The benefits of the developed and practically tested integrated programme of the development of work-related physical abilities, psychomotor responses and executive function are evaluated not only for the young people participating in the study, but also for vocational school teachers as this type of research and the development of practically tested programs provide an opportunity to convey methodological recommendations.

You will receive 2 ECTS certificate proving your academic progress in the field of scientific presentation.

2019 – 2021 (two years) Discourse analysis trainings were held, led by prof. dr. Deivydas Bloom (Ohio University, USA) Liudmila Rupšienė (Klaipeda University, Lithuania) and prof. dr. Rūta Girdzijauskienė (Klaipeda University, Lithuania). The training was attended by the academic community from various Lithuanian universities. The participants of the training could listen to prof. dr. David Bloom (Ohio University, USA) lectures, in real and virtual format, and to learn from one of the best discourse analysis expert. The training took place in a contact way, but due to the COVID-19 situation, it moved to a virtual platform. Training took place 2 times a month. During the training, David Bloom’s lectures were discussed, and discourse articles were read, analyzed and written. The participants enjoyed the training, which was interesting and practical.

In 2021, 9 th of April, LERA Lifelong Learning Network organized a seminar on the topic “Constructivism: How Many and What Points of View Does it Contain?”. Its aim is to find out various approaches to constructivism reflected in scientific sources and to try to distinguish the main ones that are significant for the current work of educators and educational practice, especially in the context of lifelong learning and self-directed learning. The seminar was led by prof. habil. dr. Palmira Jucevičienė. As noted by the seminar participants, this seminar was particularly useful for those researchers who delved into the problems of educational empowerment of learning and their solutions, using various approaches to constructivism, including constructionism.

The European Commission and Cedefop are currently updating the European guidelines for validating non-formal and informal learning. The purpose of the European guidelines is to support policy makers and practitioners in developing and implementing solutions to serve individuals in their validation process. The ambition of the guidelines is to clarify the conditions for implementation, highlighting the critical choices to be made by stakeholders at different stages of the process.
The European guidelines were first developed in 2009<https://www.cedefop.europa.eu/en/publications-and-resources/publications/4054> and, following the adoption of the Council Recommendation, updated in 2015<https://www.cedefop.europa.eu/en/publications-and-resources/publications/3073>. The evaluation of the 2012 Recommendation<https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/LT/TXT/?uri=CELEX:52020SC0121>, has signalled the importance of the guidelines in promoting a share understanding to validation in Europe and to support peer learning.
The 2021 update of the guidelines aims at keeping the guidelines relevant in the context of current and future developments such the digital and green transitions and the Covid-19 pandemic, which require Member States to increasingly tap into the full potential of their citizens. Validation of non-formal and informal learning is as an effective mechanism to deal with this need.
To support the update of the Guidelines, a survey was set up. We invite all stakeholders to reply to the survey and share their opinions and experience.
