LERA 2019 Conference Announcements
The 3rd Lithuanian Association for Educational Research (LERA) and the 3rd Conference of Doctoral Students in Education “Ideas for the Future of Education” organized by the Lithuanian Association for Educational Research, the Republic of Lithuania, took place at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LHSU), Center for Advanced Pharmaceutical and Health Technologies Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and LHSU Department of Languages and Education.
The opening plenary session of the conference focused on topics relevant not only to today’s education but also to Lithuania’s future education. Professor of Kaunas University of Technology habil. dr. Palmira Jucevičienė read the report “From Social Exclusion to the Welfare State: What Concept Does Lithuania Need for a University?”, dr. assoc. Rita Makarskaitė-Petkevičienė and dr. Aušra Žemgulienė read the report “Lost in Education: Between Ideas and Reality”. “Ecological Approach to the Current School” – the associate professor of Vytautas Magnus University dr. Rasa Nedzinskaitė-Mačiūnienė look at today’s education, and Vytautas Magnus University associate professor dr. Ramutė Teresė Bruzgelevičienė was interested in “What are the Coming Back Ideas?” That are important to us.
In the second session, there were as many as three parallel meetings. This is a round table discussion on “Coherence Between Formal and Non-Formal Learning as an Opportunity to Overcome Exclusion”. Second parallel meeting “European Association for Educational Research (EERA), World Association for Educational Research (WERA) and European Association for Educational Research (ECER) – Platforms for International Cooperation of Educational Researchers and Improving the Quality of Educational Research”. One plenary session of the conference “New Directions in Medical Education” is dedicated to the issues of medical education. Democratization and Digitization of Medicine: Education for the Role of an Agent for Change.
