Education Forum "Revealed the Reality of Education and Practical Solutions for the Future"

forumThe Education Forum “Revealed the Reality of Education and Practical Solutions for the Future” took place on the 30th of December.  The dissertations in the field of education (007 S) defended in 2021 were presented at this forum and discussions were held on the topics of the prepared dissertations. Over 50 participants attended. The introductory speech was given by prof. hab. dr. Vilija Targamadze (Deputy Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. hab. dr. Vilma Žydžiūnaitė (Chairwoman of the Joint Doctoral Committee for Education of Vytautas Magnus, Mykolas Romeris, Vilnius and Klaipėda Universities), prof. dr. Romualdas Malinauskas  (Chairman of the Joint Lithuanian Doctoral Committee for Sports, Kaunas Technology and Vilnius University Education), doc. Salomėja Vanagienė  (Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Young Scientists’ Union). During the forum, dissertations were presented by new doctors of education – those who defended their doctoral dissertations in 2021: dr. Lina Bairašauskienė, dr. Sandrita Škėrienė, dr. Renata Kondratavičienė, dr. Vilius Šadauskas, dr. Ilona Gedminienė, dr. Skaistė Kovienė, dr. Agnė Diana Liubertaitė. New doctors’ supervisors and participants of the discussions participated in the forum.  The conclusion was given by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association). prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Department of Studies, Science and Technology of Ministry of Education, Science and Sports).

Education Forum "Lithuanian Education: Efficient, Productive, High Quality and Socially Fair?"

fotorThe Education Forum “Lithuanian Education: Efficient, Efficient, Quality and Socially Fair?” was held on the 25th of November in 2021. Over 100 participants participated in this forum.  The introduction was given by Julius Lukošius (Chancellor of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. dr. Arūnas Poviliūnas (Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University). The keynote “Lithuanian Education: Efficient, Productive, High Quality and Socially Fair?” was presented by hab. dr. Rimantas Želvys (Professor, Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University). The report is based on the research project “EFFECT”, co-financed by the European Social Fund (project No. DOTSUT-39), under the grant agreement No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-01-0018) / 1) -250000-57. The discussion was attended by: prof. dr. Boguslav Gruževskis (Director of the Lithuanian Center for Social Sciences, Professor, Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University), prof. dr. Saulė Mačiukaitė-Žvinienė (Professor of Vilnius University Business School, Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Education Council), dr. Jolanta Urbanovič (Head of the Master’s Program in Education and Science Policy and Management at Mykolas Romeris University, Director of the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation, Member of the Lithuanian Association for Educational Research), Ričardas Ališauskas (Head of the Strategic Programs Division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports).

musicThe Educational Forum “Dialogues of Artistic and Cultural Education for Future Education. Why do Muses Need Advocates?” took place on the 28th of October in 2021. About 100 participants took part in the forum. The introduction was presented by Ramūnas Skaudžius (Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. dr. Romas Baronas (Chairman of the Lithuanian Science Council). The keynote speech “Strengths, Limitations, Opportunities and Challenges of Art Education” was given by dr. Rūta Girdzijauskienė (Professor of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, Chief Researcher of Klaipėda University, President of the Lithuanian Music Teachers’ Association, Member of the Artistic Education Network of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association). The discussion was attended by dr. Darius Kuolys (Associate Professor of Vilnius University),dr. Gediminas Karoblis (Professor, Faculty of Humanities, Norwegian University of Science and Technology), dr. Egidijus Stancikas (Associate Professor, Institute of Educational Research, Academy of Education, Vytautas Magnus University, General Director of Kaunas National Drama Theater), Domantas Razauskas (songwriter and performer, poet, composer, radio host, chairman of the AGATA council of the performers’ association), Vytautas Juozapaitis (Professor, Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania). The conclusion was drawn by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Department of Studies, Science and Technology of ŠMSM). The forum was moderated by dr. Emilija Sakadolskienė (Associate Professor of Vytautas Magnus University and Vilnius University, Member of the Artistic Education Network of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), Laima Rutkauskienė (Chief Specialist of the Basic and Secondary Education Division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports).

The keynote “Critical Thinking in Higher Education: Whom and Why?” dr. Daiva Penkauskienė, (Associate Professor, Institute of Education and Social Work, Faculty of Human and Social Studies, Mykolas Romeris University). The announcement is based on the research “Critical Thinking in Higher Education: A Study and Labor Market Perspective”. Research team: assoc. prof. Violeta Jegelevičienė (project manager), prof. dr. Valdonė Indrašienė, assoc. prof. Daiva Penkauskienė, assoc. prof. Jolanta Pivorienė, prof. dr. Odeta Merfeldaitė, assoc. prof. Asta Railienė, doc. dr. Justinas Sadauskas, dr. Natalija Valavičienė. Palmira Jucevičienė (Professor of Kaunas University of Technology, Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), prof. fotorThe 6th Educational Forum ”Inclusion for All: Universal Design for Learning as a Path to Educational Success”  took place on the 27th of May in 2021.  Attended over 150 participants. The welcome speech was given by dr. Jurgita Šiugždinienė (Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. hab. dr. Juozas Augutis (Rector of Vytautas Magnus University, REAL member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences). The announcement based on international research “Improving Inclusive Education Through a Universal Design for Learning (UDL)” was presented by researchers from Lithuania, Austria, Finland, and Poland. Prof. dr. Alvyra Galkienė read an announcement – Transformational Education and Research-Based UDM Application Model (Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Education (Lithuania)), prof. dr. Ona Monkevičienė – The Result of UDM Application – Every Lithuanian Student as a Motivated Learning Expert Creating Deep Knowledge (Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Education, (Lithuania)), doc. dr. Suvi Lakkala – Teaching for Diversity with UDL: Analysing Teacher Competence (University of Lapland (Finland)), prof. hab. dr. Jolanta Baran -Transformation of Routine Education Using UDM: The Polish Context (Krakow Pedagogical University (Poland)), doc. dr. Michelle Proyer. Reinterpreting Inclusive Education Practices in the Context of UDL: The Case of Austria (University of Vienna (Austria)). In the discussion participated Vitalija Bujanauskienė, (Director of Utena Education Center, Chairwoman of the General Education Council), Lina Garbenčiūtė (Project Manager of the Lithuanian Disability Organizations Forum), Kęstutis Vaišnora (President of the Lithuanian Deaf Society), Edita Žiobienė (Controller for the Protection of the Rights of the Child of the Republic of Lithuania). The closing speech was given by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Science, Studies, and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education and Science). The forum was moderated by Gražina Šeibokienė (Head of the Education Assistance Division of the General Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), doc. dr. Darius Gerulaitis (Associate Professor of the Academy of Education of Vytautas Magnus University, Member of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association). Organizers of the Education Forum: Lithuanian Education Research Association, Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania, Vytautas Magnus University. The international research presented during the forum and the translation of the forum from English into Lithuanian was funded by the Erasmus + project “ Preconditions of Transformation of Education Process in Different Educational Contexts by Applying Inclusive Education Strategies” Nr. 2018-1-LT01-KA201-046957. The translation of the forum into Lithuanian Sign Language was organized by the Lithuanian Sign Language Translation Center.

Education Forum to discuss the results of research 2020 conducted in the field of education to deal with the consequences of COVID-19

fotorThe Education Forum for 2020  to discuss the results of studies conducted in the field of education to address the implications of COVID-19 took place on the  25th of February in 2021. This forum was attended by over 200 participants. The welcome speech was given by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania dr. Ramūnas Skaudžius and Chairman of the Lithuanian Science Council prof. Romas Baronas. There were presented reports of research in the field of education on the consequences of COVID-19: Distance education during pandemics and other crisis situations (VMU); Distance education of children during the COVID-19 pandemic: threats and opportunities from an ecosystem perspective (VU); Distance working and training process organization model and recommendations for extreme and transition period (KTU, VGTU, VU). The closing speech was given by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of LERA),  and prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania).
