The aim of the Education Researchers Emeritus Network 2022-2023 is to unite the efforts of professors emeriti in education research in Lithuania:
– To assess the heritage: to explore and evaluate the significance and value of the legacy of research, scientific thought, methodologies, didactics, and the focal point of specialist training in post-war Lithuania (operating under different names: VPI, VPU, LEU).
– To contribute to the development of young researchers (PhD students).
– While recognising that vocational training is necessary at all stages of life, we argue that it is not sufficient for sustainable change, even in an ageing society, to develop forms of education and training in a changed complex environment.
– Contribute to the general culturalisation of education and vocational training experiences that are necessary in a changed society of unequal values. However, this is not enough for sustainable change in society: non-formal education and training operates in a complex cultural context which, like a positive heritage, needs to be constantly articulated.
Challenges:
– To establish a good framework for planning, analysis and dissemination that will enable the multidirectional activities of the LEU (VPI, VPU) to be presented in their historical context;
– To produce a publication reflecting the research and to try to publish it.
– To organise 6 educational forums.
– Continue personal research themes. Encourage colleagues to engage in further research, broader intellectual field, critical reflection.
– Participate in discussions and forums on topical issues in vocational education, young people’s education, culture.
– To advise young researchers and PhD students to contribute to their professional training and development.
– To maintain relations with regional cultural and educational communities, providing opportunities for professional development.
– Participate in activities uniting LEU (VPI, VPU) alumni, without losing contact with academic and civil society.
– To honour eldiers.
