Network Activities 2022
A group of more than twenty primary education researchers started their activities in 2022. The group members met and communicated remotely. .An initial investigation into the education of children from Ukraine has begun. One of the most important works is active participation in the LETA conference.As many as 9 papers were presented at the conference by researchers in the field of primary education from different Lithuanian universities (Klaipėda University, Kaunas University of Technology, Vytautas Magnus University and Vilnius University). It is important to mention that the Primary Education Research Group has an active participation of PhD students, young researchers and experienced researchers. The main themes of the presentations read at the conference are as follows:
– Integrated language education in different socio-cultural environments in primary school classrooms: case studies of urban and town activities;
– Manifestation of creativity of 3rd grade children in mathematics lessons;
– Providing feedback on learning in the primary classroom: evidence from the 2021-2022 school external evaluation;
– Collaborative learning in the distance primary classroom: challenges and new experiences;
– the impact of the virtual learning platform EDUKA on the academic performance of primary school children;
– Developing aesthetic awareness in primary school children through an exploratory approach;
– the use of Reflectus, an online reflection system, to empower primary school children to reflect on their learning in Lithuanian language lessons;
– Teachers’ attitudes towards professional happiness: gender differences;
– Planning and implementing integrated content in primary schools: teachers’ views.
In 2023, we plan to continue the activities we have started and to present the research results not only at the LERA conference but also at the Education Forum.
