The 3rd Lithuanian Educational Research Association (LERA) and the 3rd Doctoral Conference of Educational Students “Ideas for the Future of Education” organized by the Lithuanian Educational Research Association, Republic of Lithuania Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, and LSMU Department of Languages and Education took place in Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LHSU), Center for Advanced Pharmaceutical and Health Technologies.

The opening session of the conference was based on topics relevant not only to today’s education, but also to future Lithuanian education were ventilated. Professor of Kaunas University of Technology habilitated dr. Palmira read the report “From Social Exclusion to the Welfare State: What Concept Does Lithuania Need for a University?”, Assoc. Rita Makarskaitė-Petkevičienė and dr. Aušra Žemgulienė read the report “Lost in Education: Between Ideas and Reality”, professor of Vytautas Magnus University dr. Rasa Nedzinskaitė-Mačiūnienė’s looks at today’s education, her presentation “Ecological approach to the school of the present” and professor dr. Ramutė Teresė Bruzgelevičienė of Vytautas Magnus University interested in which “ Leaving, coming, and returning back ideas?” are important to us.

In the second session, there were  three parallel meetings. This is a round table discussion on “Coherence between formal and non-formal learning as an opportunity to overcome exclusion”. The second parallel meeting “European Educational Research Association (EERA), World Educational Research Association (WERA) and European Educational Research Association Conference (ECER) – platforms for international cooperation of educational researchers and improvement of the quality of educational research”. One plenary session of the conference “New Directions in Medical Education” is dedicated to the issues of medical education. “Democratization and Digitization of Medicine: Education for the Role of an Agent for Change”.
