Congratulations to Sister Viktorija Vaidogaitė, member of LETA, on becoming the 2021 Person of Tolerance!

Sister Viktorija Voidogaitė, an educator and a nun, has been chosen as the 2021 Person of Tolerance by the Board of Directors of the Sugihara Foundation “Diplomats for Life”. V. Voidogaitė was awarded for her help to migrants.V. Voidogaite was presented with a commemorative medal and diploma created by sculptor Edmundas Frėjaus, as well as a set of writings by Grigorijus Kanovičius.

The Tolerance Person of the Year nomination is an annual tradition, with the first award presented in 2001. The award is given to a person who, by his or her actions, public example or open word, has stood up against xenophobia and anti-Semitism, the persecution of other people, other religions and other ethnic groups, and who has spoken out against the manifestations of violence, abuse and radicalism in Lithuanian public life.
