A brief summary is presented below.

The dissertation “Overcoming Cultural Differences in the Process of Education: The Case of Chinese Master’s Students in Lithuania” aims to better understand how Chinese foreign students learn during intercultural studies and understand the experience of adjustment in the academic environment of Lithuania. The dissertation highlights the students’ individual experiences, challenges, as well as factors affecting their adaptation in a new cultural, academic and linguistic environment. The conducted empirical research reveals that learning a foreign language, improving language skills, cultural differences, communication challenges, student interaction and cooperation are relevant and significant, but problematic aspects of adaptation in the Lithuanian academic environment. Arriving the adaptation of Chinese students in the Lithuanian academic environment is expressed through overcoming the initial learning shock and cultural differences in education.
