About Keynote speaker.
Natalija Mažeikienė is professor of the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, Vytautas Magnus University, Doctor of Social Sciences (Education). Manager and participant in many international and national research and educational projects. Develops an interdisciplinary approach, integrating the acquired education in philosophy and educology. He is currently leading the EDUATOM project and is the institutional coordinator of the H2020 project SPEAR at Vytautas Magnus University. An expert in innovative teaching / learning methods, he has been researching and implementing a service learning strategy for more than 20 years.
Other areas of research and international projects are intercultural education and gender studies. Teaches philosophy of education, social and political theory, methodology of qualitative research in educational sciences, social work, communication programs. Participates in doctoral programs in several fields – education, sociology and communication sciences. Participates in H2020, COST, Erasmus + program projects. Editor of Peter Lang International Publishing’s series New Approaches in Educational and Social Sciences / Neue Denkansätze in den Bildungs- und Sozialwissenschaften. Author of more than 100 scientific publications.
The EDUATOM project “Didactic Technologies for the Development of Nuclear Educational Tourism in the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) Region” (EDUATOM) aims to research and implement innovative strategies for developing educational tourism and strengthening the links between non-formal and informal learning in Lithuania. Researchers of Vytautas Magnus University implementing this Smart Specialization Program project are developing a virtual route for nuclear tourism in the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant region. The EDUATOM project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (project No. 01.2.2-LMT-K-718-01-0084) under a grant agreement with the Lithuanian Science Council (LMTLT).
