A scientific discussion  “The Lag of the Theory of Education From the Needs of Educational Practice – Are We Able to Overcome the Crisis Today?” to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the birth of professor Bronislovas Bitinas took place on the 28 th of January The welcome speech was given by prof. habil. dr. Vilija Targamadze (Deputy Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of Lithuanian Parliament),  prof. dr. Lina Kaminskienė (Chancellor of VMU Academy of Education). The discussion was opened by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė with introduction  “The Lag of the Theory of Education from the Needs of Educational Practice – Are We Able to Overcome the Crisis Today?”.

In the first part of the discussion prof. dr. Irena Leliugienė read the  announcement “ The Relevance of professor B. Bitinas’s Renovation of Open School and Social Education Concepts to  Social and Community Education of Students in Today’s School“. In the  first part of discussion  participated prof. dr. Giedrė Kvieskienė, doc. dr. Auksė Petruškevičiūtė, prof. dr. Angelė Kaušylienė, dr. Agnė Liubertaitė, dr. Edita Trečiokienė. The first part of the discussion was moderated by prof. dr. Irena Leliūgienė, assoc. prof. Giedrė Misiūnienė. In the second part of the discussion prof. habil. dr. Vilma Žydžiūnaitė presented an anouncement ,, Methodological Wisdom – not Practice, but Intellectual Skill:  The Intellectual Capital of prof. habil. dr. Bronislovas Bitinas – Methodological Wisdom“. In the second part of disscussion participated  assoc. prof. Aušra Rutkienė, dr. Vaida Jurgilė, doc. dr. Edita Jezukevičienė. The second  part of the discussion was moderated by prof.habil. dr. Vilma Žydžiūnaitė, prof. dr. Rūtenis Paulauskas. In the third part of the discussion prof. dr. Romas Prakapas pr sented an announcement “ Professor Bronislovas Bitinas’ Reflections of Pedagogical Diagnostic Ideas in Today’s Educational Space”.  In the third part of the discussion participated  prof. dr. Ieva Kuginytė-Arlauskienė, prof. dr. Valdonė Indrašienė, prof. dr. Alvyra Galkienė. The third discussion part was moderated by prof. dr. Romas Prakapas, assoc. Prof. Violeta Jegelevičienė. In the fourth part of the discussion prof. dr. Aušra Kazlauskienė presented an anouncement ” Learning From Professor B. Bitinas at the Intersections and Vortexes of Life‘‘ . In the fourth disscusion part participated prof. dr. R. Bilbokaitė, prof. dr. Ilona Klanienė, prof. P. Pečiuliauskienė, prof. dr. D. Survutaitė, doc. dr. Vaiva Grabauskiene, doc. dr. Violeta Šlekienė, prof. D. Alifanovienė. The discussion was moderated by prof. dr. Aušra Kazlauskienė, prof. dr. Teodoras Tamošiūnas. The conclusion  was drawn by prof. hab. dr.
