Educational Forum “Educating Ukrainian Children in Lithuania: Looking for Research-Based Solutions” was held

On the 28 th of April,  2022, the Educational Forum „Educating Ukrainian Children in Lithuania: Looking for Research-Based Solutions“ was held. The  introduction  was  given by Aistė Kairienė (Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania on Education, Science, Innovation and Non-Governmental Organisations), prof. dr. Oksana Zabolotna (President of the Association of Educational Researchers of Ukraine). Over 100 participants participated in this forum. Simultaneous interpretation in Lithuanian and Ukrainian was used. As many as five keynote speeches were presented. The first presentation „Models of Integration of Pupils from Migrant Families into Schools: Experiences and Solutions in European Countries“ was given by dr. Barbara Stankevich (Analyst, Institute of Educational Research and Innovation), prof. dr. Jolanta Urbanovič (Vice President of the Lithuanian Association for Educational Research and Professor at Mykolas Romeris University). The second presentation „Ukrainian Models of Organising Children’s Education in Lithuanian Municipalities“ was given by prof. dr. Daiva Jakavonytė-Staškuvienė (professor at Vytautas Magnus University, Inspector of pre-school and primary education at the European Commission of the European Commission),  Kristina Paulikė (Methodologist at the National Agency for Education, Renata Bernotienė (Lecturer at Vytautas Magnus University). The third presentation, „We created a Classroom for Ukrainian Children: When Education Policy Decisions Chase Civic Initiatives“ was given by sister Viktorija Voidogaitė (PhD student, Vilnius University), Agnė Klimčauskaitė-Janavičienė (Representative of the Lithuanian-Ukrainian Educational Initiative). The fourth presentation „The First Month in Lithuanian Schools: Experiences of Ukrainian Children Fleeing the War“ was given by dr. Aleksandra Batuchina (Associate Professor, Klaipėda University), dr. Milda Ratkevičienė (Researcher, Klaipėda University and Kaunas University of Technology). The fifth presentation „Ukrainian Children in Lithuanian Schools: How to Meet Their Needs?“ was given by Nida Poderienė (Junior Researcher, Institute of Lithuanian Language), Aurelija Tamulionienė (Researcher, Institute of Lithuanian Language).  The discussion was attended by Aidas Aldakauskas (Director of the Department of Education Quality and Regional Policy, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport), Laura Juozaitytė (Senior Advisor to the Chancellery of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania), Nina Movčan (Principal of Dmitrushkivsky Lyceum, Cherkassy district, Ukraine), dr. Karolis Žibas (Integration Expert, United NationsHCR). The  conclusion was given by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association) and prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser, Department of Studies, Science and Technology,  Ministry of Education, Science and Sport). The forum was moderated by PhD student  Vaiva Juškienė (Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Vilnius College, member of the Board of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), Audronė Šuminienė (Adviser, Department of General Education, Division of Primary and Secondary Education, General Education Department). The forum was organised by the Lithuanian Educational Research Association (LERA), the Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, and the Ukrainian Educational Research Association (UERA). Educational Forum ''Adolescents’ Academic Goals in the Context of Social Inequalities: When do Lacks Become Internal Resources?''

On the 31 st of  March in 2022 the 14th Education Forum “Academic Goals of Adolescents in the
Context of Social Inequality: When Do Lacks Become Internal Resources?” 
The forum was attended by over 100 participants. The introduction speech was given by dr. Rita Dukynaitė (Chief Adviser of the Strategic Programs Division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania, Member of the PISA Board of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Member of the General Assembly of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement).
The keynote presentation “Adolescents’ academic goals in the context of social inequality: results of the ongoing research ” gGoals Laboratory” was given by dr. Rasa Erentaitė (Senior Research Fellow, Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Kaunas University of Technology, Head  of the research projects “PaNel” and “NO-GAP”). The discussion was attended by Agnė Andriuškevičienė (Adviser to the Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania on General Education, Head of the Millennium Schools Programme), prof. dr. Jonas Ruškus (professor of the Department of Social Work, Vytautas Magnus University, member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities), doc. dr. Jurga Bučaitė-Vilkė (Head of the Department of Sociology, Vytautas Magnus University), dr. Tadas Šarūnas (sociologist, analyst of cultural policy), assoc. prof. dr. Jūratė Valuckienė (Associate Professor, Institute of Regional Development, Šiauliai Academy of Vilnius University, Head of the researchers  group of the project “Time of Leaders 3”). The  conclusions were drawn  by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Advisor of the Department of Studies, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education). The forum was moderated by doc. dr. Berita Simonaitienė (Associate Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Kaunas University of Technology, member of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), Rolandas Kučiauskas (Director of the Vytautas Magnus University Ugne Karvelis Gymnasium, member of the General Education Council).

Educational Forum "Teacher Practitioner or Teacher Researcher? Qualification Dilemma of Teacher Trust"

On  the 24 th of  February, 2022 the Education Forum “Teacher Practitioner or Teacher Researcher? Qualification Dilemma of Teacher Trust ”. About 100 participants attended the event. The introduction was presented by prof. dr. Artūras Žukauskas (Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament  of the Republic of Lithuania), dr. Nijolė Putrienė (Head of the Teachers’ Activity Division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania).
Prof. dr. Lina Kaminskienė presented the announcement  “Doctoral Studies in Education: Which Way are We Going in Lithuania?”. Prof. habil. dr. Vilma Žydžiūnaitė presented the announcement “Specifics of Teacher Studies in Doctoral Studies: Models of Doctoral Studies and International Experience”. In the disscusion participated Vilma Bačkiūtė (Adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania (Education, Science and Culture Group), dr. Mindaugas Nefas (Director of Vytautas Magnus University Lyceum Socratus), Inga Nekrošienė (Deputy Director of the Education Assistance Department of the National Education Agency), prof. habil. dr. Vilija Targamadzė (Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education and Science of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania). Conclusions were drawn  by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (president of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Department of Studies, Science and Technology of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences). The forum was moderated by dr. Educational Forum "Revealed the Reality of Education and Practical Solutions for the Future"

The Education Forum “Revealed the Reality of Education and Practical Solutions for the Future” took place on 30th of December.  The  dissertations in the field of education (007 S) defended in 2021 were presented at this forum and discussions were held on the topics of the prepared dissertations. Over 50 participants attended. The introductory speech was given by prof. habil. dr. Vilija Targamadze (Deputy Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. habil. dr. Vilma Žydžiūnaitė (Chairwoman of the Joint Doctoral Committee for Education of Vytautas Magnus, Mykolas Romeris, Vilnius and Klaipėda Universities), prof. dr. Romualdas Malinauskas (Chairman of the Joint Lithuanian Doctoral Committee for Sports, Kaunas Technology and Vilnius University Education), doc. Salomėja Vanagienė (Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Young Scientists’ Union). During the forum, dissertations were presented by new doctors of education – those who defended their doctoral dissertations in 2021: dr. Lina Bairašauskienė, dr. Sandrita Škėrienė, dr. Renata Kondratavičienė, dr. Vilius Šadauskas, dr. Ilona Gedminienė, dr. Skaistė Kovienė, dr. The Education Forum “Lithuanian Education: Efficient, Efficient, Quality and Socially Fair?” was held on the 25th of November in 2021. Over 100 participants participated in this forum.  The introduction  was given by Julius Lukošius (Chancellor of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. dr. Arūnas Poviliūnas (Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University). The keynote ,,Lithuanian Education: Efficient, Productive, High Quality and Socially Fair?” was presented by  habil. dr. Rimantas Želvys (Professor, Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University). The report is based on the research project “EFFECT”, co-financed by the European Social Fund (project No. DOTSUT-39), under the grant agreement No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-01-0018) / 1) -250000-57. The 6th Educational Forum ”Inclusion for All: Universal Design for Learning as a Path to Educational Success”  took place on the 27th of May in 2021.  Attended over 150 participants. The welcome speech was given by dr. Jurgita Šiugždinienė (Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. habil. dr. Juozas Augutis (Rector of Vytautas Magnus University, REAL member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences). The announcement based on international research “Improving Inclusive Education Through a Universal Design for Learning (UDL)” were presented by researchers from Lihuania, Austria, Findland, Poland. Prof. dr. Alvyra Galkienė read an announcement – Transformational Education and Research-Based UDM Application Model (Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Education (Lithuania)), prof. dr. Ona Monkevičienė – The Result of UDM Application – Every Lithuanian Student as a Motivated Learning Expert Creating Deep Knowledge (Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Education, (Lithuania)), doc. dr. Suvi Lakkala – Teaching for Diversity with UDL: Analysing Teacher Competence (University of Lapland (Finland)), prof. habil. dr. Jolanta Baran -Transformation of Routine Education Using UDM: The Polish Context (Krakow Pedagogical University (Poland)), doc. dr. Michelle Proyer. Reinterpreting Inclusive Education Practices in the Context of UDL: The Case of Austria (University of Vienna (Austria)). In the discussion participated Vitalija Bujanauskienė, (Director of Utena Education Center, Chairwoman of the General Education Council),Lina Garbenčiūtė (Project Manager of the Lithuanian Disability Organizations Forum), Kęstutis Vaišnora (President of the Lithuanian Deaf Society), Edita Žiobienė (Controller for the Protection of the Rights of the Child of the Republic of Lithuania). The closing speech was given by prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association), prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Science, Studies, and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education and Science). The forum was moderated by Gražina Šeibokienė (Head of the Education Assistance Division of the General Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), doc. dr. Darius Gerulaitis (Associate Professor of the Academy of Education of Vytautas Magnus University, Member of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association). The international research presented  during the forum and the translation of the forum from English into Lithuanian was funded by the Erasmus + project “ Preconditions of Transformation of Education Process in Different Educational Contexts by Applying Inclusive Education Strategies” Nr. 2018-1-LT01-KA201-046957. The translation of the forum into Lithuanian Sign Language was organized by the Lithuanian Sign Language Translation Center.

The 5th Educational Forum  “Physical Education as a Basis for Personal and Social Well-Being: What does Research Show?”  took place on the 30rd of April in 2021. Attended over 100 participants. The welcome speech was given by dr. Linas Obcarskas ( Vice-minister  of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania), prof. dr. Diana Rėklaitienė (Rector of Lithuanian Sports University). The report “Physical Education as a Foundation for the Welfare of the Individual and Society: What Does Research Show?” was read by prof. dr. Arūnas Emeljanovas (Lithuanian Sports University Professor of the Department of Physical and Social Education, Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association).  In the discussion participated: Daina Gudzinevičiūtė (President of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee),prof. dr. Educational Forum "Quality of Education for All, Lifelong UNESCO Vision: Are we Approaching or Moving Away from it?"

The Educational Forum “A UNESCO Vision for Quality of Education for All, Lifelong Learning UNESCO Vision : Approaching or Moving Away from It?”  took place on 25 th of March in 2021. This forum was attended by over 150 participants.  The welcome speech was given by prof.dr. Lina Kaminskienė (Chancellor of the Academy of Education of Vytautas Magnus University). The  announcements were given by the researchers of the Academy of Education  of Vytautas Magnus University doc. dr. Ramutė Bruzgelevičienė, doc. dr. Agnė Brandišauskienė, doc. dr. Jūratė Česnavičienė, dr. Rasa Nedzinskaitė-Mačiūnienė. Educational Forum to discuss the results of research 2020 conducted in the field of education to deal with the consequences of COVID-19

The Education Forum for 2020  to discuss the results of studies conducted in the field of education to address the implications of COVID-19 took place  on the  25 th of February in 2021. This forum was attended by over 200 participants. The welcome speech was given by Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania dr. Ramūnas Skaudžius and Chairman of the Lithuanian Science Council prof. Romas Baronas. There were presented reports of research  in the field of education on the consequences of COVID-19: Distance education during pandemics and other crisis situations (VMU);Distance education of children during the COVID-19 pandemic: threats and opportunities from an ecosystem perspective (VU); Distance working and training process organization model and recommendations for extreme and transition period (KTU, VGTU, VU).The closing speech was given by the prof. dr. Liudmila Rupšienė (President of LERA),  and prof. dr. Loreta Žadeikaitė (Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania).

The Educational Forum is dedicated to prof. Leonas Jovaiša to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth

The Educational Forum on the topic “Towards Research-Based Education and Training” took place on the 28th of January in 2021, in order to commemorate the 100 anniversary of the birth of prof. Leonas Jovaiša. Over 150 people took part in this forum and today the recorder on youtube has been viewed 185 times.
