This year on the 9th of April, 3 p.m.  a seminar-discussion on the topic  ”Constructivism: How Many and What Points of View Does it Contain?”, orginised by Lifelong Learning network will take place. The seminar is led by prof. Palmira Jucevičienė.

Recently, many  researchers  have had to take a deeper look at constructivism as a theoretical basis for lifelong learning, far from heterogeneous. Do all  streams  of constructivism have a real basis for being seen as separate approaches? This is the main issue that will be discussed in this seminar.

The seminar will take place on  9 th  of April  3 p.m. Scheduled for 2 hours. Login link: https://liedm.zoom.us/j/92655076447?pwd=RklVWldLMTR3TDM

Congratulations to dr. Vitalija Putriūtė
upon successful defense of a doctoral dissertation ‘‘The Importance of Tearcher’s
autonomy support and  control for  motivation  and physical activity among high school students” (Scientific supervisor: Prof. dr. Arūnas Emeljanovas ) and acquisition doctoral degree in social sciences education.

The dissertation summary is available in the library of the Lithuanian Sports University. The dissertation is available at: 6 Sporto St., Lithuanian Sports  University, and a brief annotation of it is  presented below.

About 80% of adolescents worldwide do not meet the recommendations (Van Hecke et al., 2016; Van Hecke et al., 2016; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2018) to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) at least 50% percent of physical education (PE) lesson time (NASPE, 2004; Pate et al., 2006).
The aim of the research was to evaluate the significance of teachers’ perceived motivational factors for the motivation of older students to be physically active and physically active in physical education lessons and leisure-time.
Applying the trans-contextual model, a more detailed understanding of how perceived factors of PE teachers’ support for autonomy or control through students’ motivational factors are related to physical activity in PE lessons and leisure-time is expected.  The obtained conclusions showed that: Autonomy support is also indirectly related to leisure-time physical activity, positively mediating autonomous motivation to be physically active in leisure-time with autonomous motivation to be physically active in physical education lessons, and mediating autonomous motivation to be physically active in physical education lessons and intentions to be physically active in leisure time.
